Luzinterruptus is a collective of anonymous artists based in Madrid. They create ephemeral installations such as Nos freímos! (We’re frying! autumn 2020) which was dismantled just after four hours. Constant topics are environmental issues and global warming, as well as social matters.
In Croatia, where the Jelsa Art Biennial (JAB) is held every two years in June, the Spanish collective will realize Plastic We Live With, a work already exhibited at the Festival International des Arts de Bordeaux Métropol, in 2017. The people involved by LAB 852, organizer of the event, will be decisive: the plastic bags people has collected will be used by Luzinterruptus collective to cover the facade of the Hotel Jadran in Jelsa. The event will take place from July first to 9, the day on which the inauguration will be held. So, focus on that material which first appeared on the market in the Sixties and is still produced and used. Despite being recyclable, plastic represents now a problem for the seas, for the land and ultimately for all living beings, not least humans.
The lack of awareness about the use of plastic is strongly felt by the Madrid collective, which in 2019 has two other plastic installations: Muertos por plastico (Guerrilla, Madrid) and Laberinto de los residuos plásticos for the Barcelona Festival. Among their new projects is Vómito de plásticos.

Luzinterruptus è un collettivo di artisti anonimi, con base a Madrid. Realizza installazioni anche a carattere istantaneo come Nos freímos! (Noi friggiamo! dell’autunno 2020) che è stata smantellata dopo sole quattro ore. Temi costanti sono la questione ambientale e il riscaldamento globale, oltre agli argomenti di natura sociale.
In Croazia, dove ogni due anni si tiene a giugno la Jelsa Art Biennial (JAB), il collettivo spagnolo realizzerà Plastic We Live With, opera già esposta al Festival International des Arts de Bordeaux Métropol, nel 2017. La collaborazione della popolazione, coinvolta da LAB 852, organizzatore dell’evento, sarà basilare: i sacchetti di plastica da essa raccolti saranno utilizzati dal collettivo Luzinterruptus per coprire la facciata dell’Hotel Jadran di Jelsa. L’evento si svolgerà dal primo luglio al 9, giorno in cui si terrà l’inaugurazione. Focus su quel materiale creato negli anni Sessanta, destinato ad essere eterno, che l’uomo continua a produrre e usare. Nonostante sia riciclabile, ora rappresenta un problema per i mari, per le terre e in ultima analisi per tutti gli esseri viventi, incluso l’uomo.
La scarsa consapevolezza circa l’uso della plastica è molto sentita dal collettivo di Madrid, che al proprio attivo ha altre due installazioni del 2019: Muertos por plástico, Guerrilla, Madrid e Laberinto de los residuos plásticos, per Barcellona Festival. Fra i progetti ancora in cantiere c’è Vómito de plásticos.
