Alarmism, minimization, the value of intuition

As far as coronavirus is concerned, alarmism should not be created or encouraged. Public administrators understandbly spread this sort of slogan. However: do not minimize the pandemia in relation to its potential temporal and spatial dimension. At this very moment, it is likely not possible to make reliable predictions. Anyway, it is urgent to pre-see all the possible consequences. Regarding the economical damages they are bound to be huge. As for health we must pay our best attention in advance. And this is not in harmony with minimization. The official communications are really important, virologists’ recommendations are fundamental.

But it would be worth to use an integrative value connected with your own way of life. Just an example: if and at what time it is safer to take the underground, or to go to the supermarket or in what quantities to buy hand sanitizer. You have just to rely to your intuition or maturity or common sense, even though they are not scientific values. Anyway they are tied to normal everyday behaviors and can mitigate the excess of both alarmism or minimization.
